For decades I've heard and used the word "Spiritual" in many ways. I've said I'm on a "spiritual" path. I've led "spiritual" book studies. I read "spiritual" books. However, when I began to look deeper into this word, I realized it was so all encompassing, that I've decided to actually write this blog on the subject.
I was actually inspired by Christy Myers and her article entitled, "What Does It Mean To Be a Spiritual Person And How To Enhance Your Journey". After reading her article, I realized that it's very difficult to say briefly what the word "spiritual" means because it has come to be so all encompassing.
To be on a spiritual path involves looking below the surface of life to seek a deeper understanding of all that is taking place. And this can thus involve many different types of practice, some of which are:
PRAYER
MEDITATION
CHANTING
YOGA
QI GONG
SLOW WALKING IN NATURE
GOING TO CHURCH
ASTROLOGY
MINDFUL PRACTICES
SELF-INQUIRY
SPIRITUAL COMMUNITY
REFLECTION
Each person will fine-tune their journey with different tools at different times. The above list are just some of the practices that are possible for exploration to reflect on one's life experience to go deeper in examining their life to understand more about who they are and their role in life.
Part 2 of this blog will be on the subject of WHY the spiritual journey is SO important in the world of today. I invite you to ponder, WHY you feel being on a spiritual journey in today's world would be helpful?
I'd love to hear from you. Please contact me through this website by going to the CONTACT PAGE. thank you.
